Hertfordshire Zoo is a fun and educational zoo located in Broxbourne, offering a chance for families to get up close with various animals including lions, tigers, meerkats, monkeys, red pandas, reptiles, and more. It's known for its hands-on animal encounters and exciting themed zones like World of Dinosaurs with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, Land of the Tigers, and Rainforest Experience.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as animal feeding sessions, keeper talks, indoor and outdoor play areas, soft play zones, a splash pool in summer, and even a miniature train ride through the zoo. There’s also a mini-golf course and plenty of picnic spots.

Ticket prices start from around £24 for adults and £22 for children, with under-2s going free. Discounted family tickets, memberships, and group rates are also available.

Throughout the year, Hertfordshire Zoo hosts special events like Dino Weekends, Summer Evenings, Halloween Spook-tacular, and Christmas at the Zoo, making it a fun destination to visit all year round.

Special Attractions : 

• World of Dinosaurs : One of the UK’s biggest and most spectacular animatronic dinosaur attractions, set in acres of natural woodland. It features 30 life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs – a real thrill for any dinosaur adventurer!
• Rex Express Train : Visitors can experience a Dinosaur Train ride, the ‘Rex Express’, through the World of Dinosaurs, where every twist and turn reveals a new prehistoric surprise.
• Tumble Jungle : This popular soft play facility allows children to create their own adventures while parents can relax in a comfortable viewing area.
• National Speedway Museum : Whether you’re a die-hard supporter or are new to Speedway, there are hundreds of exhibits and pieces of memorabilia to keep you entertained!The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30-16.00.

• Boulders Beach : Come and enjoy Hertfordshire’s only beach and get ready to explore where African penguins roam on a journey to the coast of South Africa. All ages can enjoy the refreshing water or even take a relaxing break on one of the sun-beds laid out across the sandy inspired beaches.
• Zoo Playgrounds : Take a break from trekking around the Zoo and exploring our range of beautiful animals - Hertfordshire Zoo also has five fantastic adventure play area's for you to sit and relax at whilst the kids tire themselves out by letting their imagination run wild!

Games & Events : 

• Safari Adventure Golf : Traverse the African plains and beyond on our exciting 9-hole mini golf course! Putt your way past zebras, dodge playful pandas, and brave the daring loop-the-loop. We’ve got wacky trick shots to keep things interesting for all ages and skill levels.
• Events : The Zoo hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including themed weekends focusing on specific animal species like tigers, birds, red pandas, reptiles, and lemurs, as well as special appearances and activities. Future events include a "Mummy Pig, Evie and Peppa Visit" and several "One Zoo Three" meet & greets in August 2025.
